POSITION AVAILABLE: Office Assistant
LOCATION: Henderson County office, Lexington, TN, 26th Judicial District
SALARY: Part Time, Entry level salary not to exceed 29 hours per week
SUMMARY: Under general supervision of Community Corrections officers in the Lexington office, responsible for secretarial/receptionist work of average difficulty, performs related work as required.
JOB OVERVIEW AND WORK ACTIVITIES:
Performs a variety of routine clerical functions such as assembling information obtained from case officers for opening or closing a case file, sorting, and distributing mail received, preparing fee payment receipts, and ensures proper procedures are implemented in connection with the County Trustee’s office.
Creates emails, documents, and spreadsheets using current office software. Monitors proper working conditions of office equipment. Monitors supplies and standard business forms to ensure adequate stock for office functionality.
Act as receptionist in answering a variety of questions, provide assistance, explaining procedures, by telephone and/or personal contact with offenders, visitors, county employees, and/or court personnel.
Operates and/or utilizes a variety of standard business office machines and equipment including: electronic calculator, computer, copy machine, scanner, telephone, fax machine, postage machine, and case management database system.
Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school or office clerical experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
Must possess a valid State of Tennessee Driver’s License. Must complete and pass drug screen, pre-employment physical and a criminal history background check.
