Register of Deeds

Responsibilities

The Register of Deeds primary purpose is to accept, receipt, and index land documents. Copies of all documents are kept of all the deeds, trust deeds, liens, charters of incorporation, maps, plats, military discharges, and all UCC filing on personal property.

About the Register of Deeds

Angie Byers, Register of Deeds was elected March 21, 2016. The Registers Office is located on the first floor of the County Courthouse. The Registers Office is online and completely computerized. The Land records date back to 1821.
